Your Next Read: Love Does

I have always heard the hype behind Love Does, but I’ve never gotten around to reading it. I read Bob Goff’s latest book Everybody Always over Christmas break and LOVED it, so when I saw this copy of Love Does at our house I jumped into reading it (and quickly finished!) Goff’s storytelling abilities and language makes for lots of laughs, a few tears, and lots of lessons learned about who God really is and who He is calling us to be.

Summary: Bob Goff is a whimsical, funny, life-loving and life-giving lawyer who also is a professor and holds his office hours on Tom Sawyer’s Island at Disneyland. No joke. This book gives several short stories of events that have happened in Bob Goff’s life that have given him a little more insight into the person God has designed him and us to be. This is a read for anyone and everyone at all stages of life. It’s an easy read, but it gives the reader something to think about with each chapter. These are the kinds of books that give people a love for reading. My favorite chapter is the one about Bob having a complete stranger come to his house every couple of days enlisting Bob’s help into creating the perfect proposal. A must-read in a time that has felt really dark.
