The Couple Next Door by Shari Lapena is a quick, keep you on your toes kind of read. And I’m not saying it’s quick because of the length (308 pages so not super short), it’s a quick read because you can’t put it down.
A very well-written mystery that engrosses you into the world of Anne and Marco Conti. Secrets are unraveled when their baby goes missing and they are left as the ones to blame. This is a very clever book that could easily become a major motion picture in the upcoming years!
Usually, you can piece together what’s going to happen in a mystery, but this one left me clueless until the very last page.

Summary: Anne and Marco Conti seem to have the perfect marriage: a beautiful baby girl named Cora, a great house, a wonderful relationship, but all that falls apart when they attend a dinner party at their neighbor’s house. Detective Rasbach plays a large role in the story as he tries to determine who committed the crime and what secrets the Conti’s are keeping. Things are never as they seem!
