Your Next Read: When Life Gives You Lululemons by Lauren Weisberger

Why am I just now reading this read? I’m an avid lover of Miranda Priestly and all that comes with The Devil Wears Prada, and Emily gets the spin-off no one expected. It is really fun to see a different side of her because well she wasn’t exactly the nice guy in The Devil Wears Prada.

Will this become a movie? Will Meryl Streep grace us with her presence? I have so many questions. Miranda Priestly wasn’t as present in this book as I expected her to be and there was no mention of Andy. I feel pretty indifferent about that. I didn’t even know there was a sequel to The Devil Wears Prada called The Devil Returns: Revenge Wears Prada. Oops. Need to read that one too!

Rating: 4.5/5 stars. Sequels like this usually feel a little forced to me, but this book flowed effortlessly. It was definitely the fun, pick-me up read I needed this week.

Summary: After leaving Miranda Priestly, Emily Charlton makes a name for herself in LA as an image consultant for stars, but as technology begins to take over she finds herself unable to keep up with today’s social media antics. Her clients are being stolen left and right by younger, shinier versions of herself.

Emily finds the exact opportunity she needs to make a comeback: Karolina Hartwell, a high-profile Senator’s wife and former supermodel that has just run into some trouble with the law. Emily has an in with Karolina: her best friend Miriam is a friend of hers. Emily packs her bags and heads to Greenwich.

The three of them form a game plan on how to clear Karolina’s name and take back the adoration of the public. Lots of GIRL POWER throughout the book which I love. Anyway.

Three very different people, yet they unite for different reasons. And of course Miranda Priestly bops in to help for her own selfish reasons.

For Fans Of: The Devil Wears Prada. DUH! I would say Crazy, Rich Asians fans would enjoy this one too.
