Well well well, we meet again Kristin Hannah. I am exhausted from you hurting my feelings by writing the most eloquent, timeless, emotional books I’ve ever read. I finished reading this one in the bathtub. I cried for a whole hour straight after I finished it. Not exaggerating. I’ve never cried so hard over a book’s ending. I think the ending, well honestly the whole story but very much the ending, felt really personal to me (I won’t spoil it), so it really got to me. Don’t ask me to pick a favorite Kristin Hannah book because I COULD NEVER.
Rating: 5/5 stars. I don’t think she writes any books that aren’t 5 stars.
Summary: The story begins when Kate and Tully are in the 8th grade. Kate struggles to fit in, but when the coolest girl in the world moves across the street things begin to change. Complete opposites in every way. Tully wants fame and fortune. Kate wants love and a family. Everyone loves Tully, and by association often Kate is brought along for all the rides. They have undying loyalty for one another. Tully has lots of secrets. She wishes more than anything that her mother would notice her and see how much potential she has. Her greatest desire seems to be to win the approval of her mother. I feel like I can’t really give a full summary or else I’ll give something away. There is so much to this story. Read it.
For Fans Of: Anyone. Everyone. All who love fiction. Also it’s going to be a Netflix series in 2021 with Katherine Heigl starring!
Favorite Character: I really love Kate. I think she’s the most relatable character and doesn’t get enough credit for her greatness.
