The Heart of Leadership by Mark Miller

My parents gave me this book recently and I FLEW through it! Very easy read but also very challenging and convicting. I know I’m going to read this one again sometime soon. So much wisdom in this book!

Rating: 5/5 stars.

Summary: Mark Miller has worked for Chick-fil-A since 1977 and that’s pretty much all you need to know in order to be convinced that he’s a credible source when it comes to the idea of leadership.

Leadership character isn’t something that always comes naturally; it typically has to be developed over time. We have to work on becoming the leader we strive to be and walking through this book has shifted my perspective on a lot of things.

You can have all the very best skills in the world, but if you don’t have the leadership character necessary to lead people then the skills do not matter. The idea of the iceberg is brought up in this book: the 10% that is above water is the leadership skills, but what makes up 90% of the iceberg but cannot be seen is leadership character.

Reaaaally recommend this read no matter what stage of life you’re in!
