A. MUST. READ! Wow. I’ve been in a bit of a book slump the past month. I read “City of Girls” over Thanksgiving break and just didn’t love it at all. After that, I just did not feel like reading. Then, I got this book and MAN it got me fired up! I love how Lauren so honestly tells her story. The highs, the lows, everything so blunt.
It seems long, but I flew through it… and read almost the whole thing in the bathtub. Reading while taking a bath is fun, okay?
Rating: 5/5 stars. Best book I’ve read in a long time. You will be captivated from the very beginning! If you need an encouraging, heartfelt read then this is the book for you over Christmas break!
Summary: I am willing to bet you’ve heard about Lauren and Thomas Rhett’s love story… or you’ve at least heard TR’s music. But Lauren very openly discusses her life growing up, love, marriage, kids, etc… but the reoccurring theme of faith and what God has done and continually does in their lives. I love the way Lauren tells the highs and lows of her life and how God continually redeems her story and gives her confirmation that her life has such meaning.
I laughed, cried (more than once), and felt hopeful. I love getting to end the year with such a good read that reminded me what a gift life is and how good the Giver is. I think I also connected to her story on such a personal level because she grew up in a smaller private school surrounded by such a solid community AND I loved reading about their adoption story of their baby Willa Gray. I would love to adopt some day, so I loved hearing about how Willa Gray came into their lives.
For Fans Of: Kind of reminded me a little of “A Love Letter Life” by Audrey and Jeremy Roloff. Another one of my favorites!
