Happy NYE friends! One last book review of 2020! Guess my roommates know me well because Sav gave me a book stamp that says "From The Library of Mary Spencer Veazey" and Jane gave me this WILD READ. It started off slow. I was certain I'd be able to predict the way this book would [...]
When I attended Auburn University, Auburn Community Church was my church home for a couple years. I absolutely loved it and was excited when I found out our pastor's wife, Courtney Fidell, was writing a devotional! I just wrapped up this 30 day devotional and I think it is something every woman should read. It's [...]
I jumped right back into a Chanel Cleeton read after I loved The Last Train to Key West. This one did not disappoint! I'm always going to be a sucker for historical fiction that also has a good romance tied in Rating: 4.5/5 stars. The story flip flops between the perspective of Elisa Perez in 1958 [...]
My parents gave me this book recently and I FLEW through it! Very easy read but also very challenging and convicting. I know I’m going to read this one again sometime soon. So much wisdom in this book! Rating: 5/5 stars. Summary: Mark Miller has worked for Chick-fil-A since 1977 and that’s pretty much all you [...]
Well well well, we meet again Kristin Hannah. I am exhausted from you hurting my feelings by writing the most eloquent, timeless, emotional books I've ever read. I finished reading this one in the bathtub. I cried for a whole hour straight after I finished it. Not exaggerating. I've never cried so hard over a [...]
A book all about friendship? Say less. I had seen this read all over bookstagram this summer and finally caved and bought it a couple weeks ago. I struggle sometimes with non-fiction, self-helpish type books, but this is not at all what you would expect it to be. Aminatou and Ann take stories from their friendship: hard, personal, vulnerable moments in their friendship and share it with the world.
Okay, I am hopping on the Emily Giffin fan train. I’ve seen her name on the Internet before and I finally got around to reading one of her novels. Of course, I chose the one that took place in Nashville. I didn’t know what to expect for this read, but it certainly wasn’t what unfolded in the story. All I Ever Wanted touches on sexual assault, rape and racism, all in one story. It also reminded me of how much I do not miss high school and how evil teenagers can be.
