Dear friend going through sorority recruitment, I'm thinking about you and praying for you during this time. Every August, my mind always jumps to thoughts about those going through recruitment so soon. It's already crazy enough to be moving to a new city and beginning your college career, but to also throw in recruitment can [...]
We all can agree on the simple fact that 2020-2021 hasn't exactly been the season we planned or hoped for. We've lost people we loved. Jobs have been lost, hard decisions have been made, and often it feels like there's no gas left to put in our tanks. We're running on empty. I've been thinking [...]
I work at an addiction treatment center and it’s pretty much my favorite place in the entire world. Women walk through our doors to receive the help they need. None of them look alike. "Relinquish power to the Creator of the universe," I have to tell myself over and over. I cannot control a pandemic; however, I can control the way I act during this season. The problem here is I feel like we don't know what to do with these moments of pressing pause. We were running 100 mph and now we are forced to go the speed limit. The voices surrounding us have been limited, so we fill our mind with our own anxiety-ridden voice.
