A book all about friendship? Say less. I had seen this read all over bookstagram this summer and finally caved and bought it a couple weeks ago. I struggle sometimes with non-fiction, self-helpish type books, but this is not at all what you would expect it to be. Aminatou and Ann take stories from their friendship: hard, personal, vulnerable moments in their friendship and share it with the world.
Okay, I am hopping on the Emily Giffin fan train. I’ve seen her name on the Internet before and I finally got around to reading one of her novels. Of course, I chose the one that took place in Nashville.
I didn’t know what to expect for this read, but it certainly wasn’t what unfolded in the story. All I Ever Wanted touches on sexual assault, rape and racism, all in one story. It also reminded me of how much I do not miss high school and how evil teenagers can be.
Why am I just now reading this read? I'm an avid lover of Miranda Priestly and all that comes with The Devil Wears Prada, and Emily gets the spin-off no one expected. It is really fun to see a different side of her because well she wasn't exactly the nice guy in The Devil Wears Prada.
This book THREW ME FOR A LOOP. The first part of the book I was like goodness this feels so predictable, and I WAS WRONG. Wow. This book is such a thriller. One of those books that makes you remember that people are not always as they seem...
Y'all know by now I'm a sucker for romance. I hadn't gotten to read in a while because finals with grad school happened, then ~virtual graduation~ and honestly my brain was just tired, but I picked this one up and couldn't stop reading!
I've seen this book by Colleen Hoover ALLLLLL over the Internet. Finally gave it read and it was not at all what I expected but I loved it! It Ends With Us really draws you in from the very beginning and does not end at all how you thought it would HOWEVER I LOVED AND [...]
Mike Todd is a famous pastor that I have heard all sorts of great things about, so I was excited to read this one! I actually saw him speak on The Today Show (back in April aka the darkest and weirdest month of my life that I'm trying to forget about), and after I saw him speak I knew I wanted to order his debut book!
I had heard several times over the past year that I would love Just Mercy. After I saw a movie was made about this book, I decided it was time to finally read it before I watched the movie. Ironically enough, there has been much talk about Just Mercy in the wake of recent events. [...]
I ordered this one months and months ago, but I finally started it back in April. I read it really slowly. I needed to soak up all of it piece by piece. I finally finished it and would recommend to everyone. Latasha Morrison gives such incredible steps that we can take to be the bridge [...]
As you probably have seen, I'm a HUGE FAN of The Great Alone by Kristin Hannah. I was hoping the second novel I read by her wouldn't disappoint and it was so good. So good. I couldn't stop reading. One day it got so good I read while I tanned, read while I laid in a pool float, got out of the pool, hopped in the bathtub and read some more. Read my review to see why I loved it so much!
